I have been jonesing for a new car for quite some time, but the current crop of cars just feel behind the times. Unsurprisingly, I’m not alone in that opinion and it’s depressing the used car market–a pointed reminder of how dramatically tastes can change when gas doubles and triples in price. It’s just hard to get excited about saving a few thousand bucks on a truck or SUV that gets 15 or 20 MPG. And it turns out that as used car prices decline, so do the profits on leasing contracts.
